Feeding bellies, not landfill

Fair Food is Auckland’s first food rescue charity. Established in 2011, they collect good fit-to-eat food from primary producers and retailers that would otherwise go to landfill and redistribute it free of charge to people who struggle to put food on the table.

Fair Food rescued over 220,000 kilograms (220 tonnes) of food from landfill in 2019, equating to 348,000 meals provided to those in need. By 2025, that number reached 7.5 million meals shared.

Lemonade redesigned and refreshed Fair Food’s marketing and communication assets. This included website, signage, vehicle and truck livery, email templates, staff t-shirts and tote bags, and marketing collateral and menus for events such as a TEDx dinner function which Fair Food helped cater with rescued food.

During COVID-19, we provided marketing and communication advice, created COVID-19 health and safety messaging, emails, social media and digital as well as radio ads to drive awareness and donations.

“We rescue good food and redistribute it to those who need it. During the COVID crisis, Lemonade has helped us remain visible to potential suppliers and donors. With their smarts, we’ve been able to keep our trucks on the road and continue to fill bellies.”
